Your price is what you charge for the value you provide.
When you are a writer, and many of our SMARTSTARTERs rely on that skill for income, you can expect to be inundated with numerous requests to whip up a little something for this or that person, cause, or organization.
And you have to do it for FREE because they needed something yesterday, don’t have a budget and it’s what you do. But, you’re going to get all this publicity so it should be a no-brainer and take you no time at all, right?
WRONG. WRONG. A thousand times WRONG!
This is a trap you absolutely must not fall into (although many do and, ultimately, deeply regret it).
