Do you declare summer hours?

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to declare summer hours for yourself and your business?

Now is the perfect time to embrace the power of work flexibility by declaring your summer hours! Do you remember how much you looked forward to the long summer break from school when you were young? No more having to get up early. And being able to spend the days of the week as you wish?

Why not build that excitement into your work life too?

Downtime is a must. You’re not just making an impact with your work, you’re also making a life!

Making time for fun is as important to success as working on your business. Forget making money; make some memories this summer!

Experiment to find what works best for you.

Our simple process

STEP 1: Choose a start/end date for your summer hours, e.g., Jul 1 to Aug 31 or the 1st Sunday in June to the 1st Sunday in September.

(I’m doing the May long weekend through to the Labour Day weekend.)

STEP 2: Decide how you want to work during this special time of year.

For example: How about a 4-day work week? Less? Shorter workdays? Meeting-free days? Working evenings only? Hammock days for resting your mind? Or even doing client calls?

STEP 3: Plan at least one or two (or even 3!) 4-day mini-vacations around long weekends if you aren’t able to go on a multi-weeks-long vacation this summer.

STEP 4: Block off days/times you are NOT available for work so you don’t accidentally book other commitments.

Do it now! Don’t prioritize your schedule, schedule your priorities!

Yes, you can declare summer hours! Make it an annual tradition. Even if you must stay home. It’s one of the best things you can do for yourself and your business.
